APS5 Quality Officer

  • Start: Immediate Start / ASAP
  • Contract Length: 12 months
  • Pay Rate: $55.24
  • Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Location: Newcastle

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Quality Reviews: Oversee a range of moderately complex to complex quality reviews and audits.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Conduct activities related to planning processes and decision-making to ensure consistency.
  • Technical Commentary: Provide professional feedback and assessments based on legislative and process compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify best practice approaches and use insights to drive higher performance and quality standards.
  • Mentoring: Support team members to enhance the correctness of their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Data Management: Accurately record data using specific tools (like JIRA, PACE, or CRM) while adhering to strict privacy requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess complex issues, apply reflective thinking, and draw logical, well-reasoned conclusions.
  • Communication: Strong written skills with the ability to translate technical jargon into clear, accessible information.
  • Legislative Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, policy frameworks, and "Reasonable and Necessary" decision-making.
  • Technical Proficiency: Moderate to strong skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with government operating systems.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Social Services, Government Administration, or Quality Assurance are highly desirable and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience
  • Audit Experience: Prior experience completing audits, file reviews, or quality control activities.
  • Work Rights: Australian Citizenship required.
